Friends of Assumption School Society
Parents are the number one educators of their children and we believe parental involvement in our schools is imperative to student success. There are several to get involved at your child’s schools through School Council, volunteering, classroom support and others.

Big Country Ag Society
The Big Country Agricultural Society (BCAS) serves the community of Oyen, Alberta and its surrounding communities. The BCAS organization built, maintains, and operates the Crossroads Center, a heated indoor facility that hosts a variety of community events and is available for private and public rental. The BCAS runs the Farmer's Market and hosts events including The Beef Expo, rodeos, jackpots, gymkhanas, motorcycle rallies, car shows, Open Farm Tours, Little Town of Bethlehem, farm safety, etc.

Sacred Heart Parish
WE HOLD WORSHIP SERVICES WEEKLY. WE HOLD SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION WITH CONGREGATIONS OF OTHER CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY 2-4 TIMES A YEAR WITHIN COVID RESTRICTIONS. WE OFFER PASTORAL CARE TO HOSPITAL PATIENTS, SENIORS' LODGE AND THE HOUSEBOUND. WE FINANCIALLY SUPPORT LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS BY CONTRIBUTING FUNDS TO OUR DEMONINATIONS DIOCESE WHICH IS A REGISTERED CHARITY. WE PROVIDE EDUCATION THROUGH BIBLE STUDY TO MEMBERS IN OUR CONGREGATION. ALL WORK IS DONE BY 12 PEOPLE - THE ACTIVE MEMBERS OF OUR CONGREGATION.

Chinook Applied Research Association
The Chinook Applied Research Association is driven by farmers and ranchers in the Special Areas and MD of Acadia of east central Alberta to bring innovative and profitable practices to the local agricultural industry. Our program of applied research, demonstration and extension projects provides a link in the transfer of knowledge and technology between research and the producer. Producers, industry, government and others can access reliable data on crop, livestock, soil and water projects that is relevant to the area and its soil and climatic conditions. CARA is a non-profit society working in, registered as a charity with Revenue Canada.

Royal Canadian Legion
The Royal Canadian Legion is a non-profit Canadian ex-service organization founded in 1925. Membership includes people who have served as military, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, provincial and municipal police, Royal Canadian Air, Army and Sea Cadets, direct relatives of members and also affiliated.

Welcoming Communities Committee
The Welcoming Communities Committee was created in 2023 and is actively seeking volunteers to welcome and support newcomers as they settle into our community. This Committee aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging and facilitates the successful integration of newcomers.
The Welcoming Communities Ambassador is a volunteer position for six months and will provide social and integration support. These Volunteers will be matched with a newcomer based on interest, skills, experience and newcomers needs. For more information, call the town office (403)664-3511 or check out the documents below.
